Samir THEVENOT, a former top-level rugby player and type 1 diabetic, was fed up with losing his blood glucose sensors on the pitch, whilst Régis, the father of a child with type 1 diabetes, wanted to make his daughter’s daily life, she, too, lives with this condition; it’s simpler.
Both faced with the day-to-day challenges posed by diabetes, and after several years of research and testing, they created a protective solution that adapts to any situation. Their meeting marked the start of the Capteur Protect adventure. Today, it is Matthieu GOGNIAT who has since been running the company alongside Samir.
As a person with type 1 diabetes, I’ve experienced the frustration of losing my sensors too quickly. I wanted to create a simple, convenient and reliable solution, which enables people with diabetes to to live life to the full their daily lives and without any constraints. Capteur Protect was born out of this very personal need, and has now become a solution for thousands of patients.

The Capteur Protect story began in the Drôme region of France, and continues there to this day. As a French manufacturer of medical devices, the brand remains deeply committed to its roots.
Many of its suppliers are local, from packaging to marketing, and the company has also set up its offices there.
Already active on the international stage, Capteur Protect is taking a new step forward in its development thanks to its distribution partnership with Embecta. This collaboration is set to accelerate the momentum already in place, with the brand now present in more than 13 countries — and this is just the beginning.
